Launched in 1948 to coincide with the brand’s 100th anniversary, the OMEGA Seamaster line is the oldest of the collection. The Seamaster was based on waterproof wristwatches made for the British Army at the end of WWII.
The model presented here is not easy to find in excellent condition, even more so when paired with an original Beads of Rice bracelet. Also known as the “Datejust Killer,” especially when looking at the reference 1600 of the crown brand with similar specs: nice 35mm size, date display, smooth bezel.
Several references have taken on similar aesthetics, some older than others. The reference 14744-1 SC presented here corresponds to a first generation model, at end of the 1950’s, and is particularly identifiable thanks to the “bent” S in “Seamaster.”
