Launched in 1948 to coincide with the brand’s 100th anniversary, the Seamaster line is the oldest of the collection. The line was based on the waterproof wristwatches made for the British Army at the end of World War II.
The model shown here is not easy to find in good condition. It is sometimes referred to as a “Datejust Killer,” particularly the reference 1600 of the crown brand, due to similar technical characteristics: a nice 35mm diameter, date function, and “smooth” bezel.
