The “Monaco” is a real legend. First chronograph with a square and waterproof case, it was originaly proposed in the brand’s catalog in a hand-wound version with a crown on the right side. In 1969, the famous caliber 11 was born out of a partnership between Breitling, Heuer, Léonidas and Büren.
It owes its fame to automobile drivers like Jo Siffert, but especially to Steve McQueen during the shooting of Lee Katzin’s movie “Le Mans” in 1970.
