It is in Chicago, behind the red door of 2015 North Elston Avenue, that the “Horween Leather Co.” tannery has been working leather since 1927. A legendary name whose origins go back to the end of the 19th century, and which today produces the one and only Horween Shell Cordovan.

THE ONE AND ONLY
It has been over a century that the quality of leather tanning from the Horween workshops has been confirmed.
Its reputation is indeed that of know-how, without compromising on quality, particularly in the manufacture of a very special leather that has generated its international success: genuine Shell Cordovan.
More than a color, it is a very specific leather from a particular part of a horse skin. Its working process takes no less than 6 months. During this period the skin is tanned with fats, oils and waxes.
INCOMPARABLE DEPTH
The result of the work of the Horween tannery on this leather is of incredible depth and shine. Horween Shell Cordovan’s look is unique, which is why it’s popular in the footwear world (we immediately think Alden or more recently Malfroid) and adopted for a long time by precursor markets such as Japan.
This is why we wanted to combine our know-how with this exceptional material.
We wanted to start by working with three colors from the Horween Shell Cordovan collection.
A deep black, a legendary burgundy and a green with such special nuances.
You have the choice between three types of watch straps: A classic one with stitching and threading all along without forgetting edge dye applied three times rather than one, the BUND version now known to all, and an absolutely superb rallye strap.
IN SHELL CORDOVAN
Here, the Bund strap that we no longer present.
The bund is composed of a strap in two parts and an American plate.
The proportions of our American plate have been rethought and refined to give it more elegance.
The proportions of our straps (width at lugs/width at buckle) are as follows: 18/14mm – 19/16mm – 20/16mm – 22/18mm
Fits wrists measuring 16.5 to 21 centimeters in circumference.

This does not mean that we will not produce this strap again in the months and years to come. However, it will always be offered in limited quantities.
